I took great interest in Tim Steller's article about TUSD using Proposition 301 money for other than teacher's salaries. Prop. 301 was passed in 2000 by voters to be used for teacher's salaries. If voters voted for its use, wouldn't it be illegal to use this money for something else? I'll bet Superintendent H.T. Sanchez got a raise. I'll also bet he not a teacher.
The article said that the Prop. 301 money not given towould come to about $3,000 per teacher. That's pretty good. I taught for 30 years, and that's about how much I spent each year on my class. No wonder teachers are quitting.
