Re: the April 2 column "Tucson’s Sister Dunn was the Legislature’s ‘conscience’ " by Ernesto Portillo Jr.
Thank you, Mr. Portillo, for writing your column about Sr. Clare Dunn in the recent paper.
I was lucky enough to be one of Sr. Clare's students when she taught at Salpointe High School. Her social studies classes helped open my mind to many issues and political ideas that I hadn't ever thought of before meeting her.
I was a member of the ERA support group that she started for students and I volunteered for the McGovern campaign and Sr. Clare Dunn's own campaign for legislator.
She did a lot of work for the rights of families, the poor and people in need living in Arizona. I miss her advocacy work .
