Barbara LaWall has held her position for 20 years because she is opposed to being questioned on her record. Pima County voters have been left in the dark as to what exactly the county attorney does and how LaWall's actions under that title affects them. On elections, she relies on uninformed voters to simply vote for a familiar name, which she has established in her 20-year reign. But that has to stop.
LaWall should show her face to Pima County voters and make her positions very well known. The best way to do this is to debate publicly Joel Feinman, the person who is running against her. A debate with Feinman will truly allow people to make an informed decision. It is a disgrace and disgusting that LaWall refuses to allow the people question her record and claims her position as a public official is "not an open seat."
