Re: the June 3 article "McSally central in protecting missile production."

Answering easy questions and avoiding difficult, but crucial, questions is not political leadership, congressional courage or even personal worthiness.

Rep. Martha McSally took deserved applause at Raytheon for her active support of an amendment protecting missile production that anyone representing this district, right, left, or center would have undoubtedly pursued. That's okay. But she dodged a more crucial, spontaneous question from her audience asking "which candidate for president would be best in terms of protecting national security?"

That is vital information that all of us, right, left, or center, should know. It was a simple question that deserved a clear answer. The article said she "side stepped," and that is not okay, particularly when an unguided missile is involved.
