Re: the April 1 article "Tucson airport overhaul underway"

The photo accompanying this article shows a construction worker wearing stilts so he can reach the ceiling. Stilts are used rather than scaffolding because they save the time spent climbing up and down. Although these stilts are allowed by OSHA, they are very dangerous and can result in serious injury if one were to fall while using them. I have seen these stilts used on home improvement TV shows.

When I was a general contractor, I would not allow these stilts to be used on my job sites. The DIYer should never consider using them, and I think they should not be used anywhere.
