Re: the April 9 article “Voucher cap already stirs talk of lifting it

”The article about proponents’ argument for school vouchers going to private and parochial schools because parents pay school taxes is laughable. I pay taxes as well and do not have any children attending school, so can I choose where my school taxes are going? I pay taxes to support public education and do not want my tax dollars going to private schools, period.

Consider, some parents may receive more school-voucher money than they pay in taxes if they have more than one child attending school. Maybe we should allow taxpayers with no children to opt out of paying school taxes and those with more than one child in school to pay twice as much.

And how about my federal tax money not going to support Melania living at Trump Tower instead of the White House? Or how about my tax dollars going to Meals on Wheels instead of bombing Syria?
