Senator John McCain doesnât get it. What makes Orlando an act of ISIL and the Colorado theater shooting or Newtown not? A single call. All are mass killings enabled by access to assault weapons and large magazines. Senator McCain let the assault weapons ban lapse, and did not act to renew it, so their blood is on his hands.
It is reprehensible to brag about the defense bill and not focus on eliminating access to weapons of mass killings. He should focus on solutions addressing the reason ISIL appeals to the youth, solutions that grow jobs and opportunities into the middle class, eliminate prejudice and make all feel valued, making America greater and safer.
His GOP prejudice comes through, only mentioning the LGBT, Christian and Jewish communities and American citizens, failing to point out that ISIL has killed thousands of Muslims. Fact check: Air Force generals decided to retire the A-10.
