The ranking of Tucson as the "most dangerous city" in Arizona by 24/7 Wall Street should viewed with skepticism. First, as a criminal justice scholar, I note that the data referenced for this ranking comes from the FBI's Unified Crime Report and may be incomplete. The FBI warns against city comparisons thus: "Comparisons lead to simplistic and/or incomplete analyses that often create misleading perceptions adversely affecting communities and their residents. Valid assessments are possible only with careful study and analysis of the range of unique conditions affecting each local law enforcement jurisdiction."

Second, as one with 20 years of e-commerce experience, I'd note that 24/7 Wall Street appears to be a so-called "click-bait" site designed to serve advertisements to readers by segmenting its content. 24/7 spreads all 50 states into 13 pages instead of a single page, requiring a reader to view as many ads as possible to view its questionable analysis. The Star would serve its readers well by noting this.
