As President of SA GREYS and a source for the article regarding the continuing need for homes for greyhounds in Tucson, I must correct one misleading impression left by this article.
Ms. Zoldan was not working as a volunteer for Southern Arizona Greyhound Adoption (SA GREYS) in her efforts to close the Tucson track and end racing. SA GREYS is a racing-neutral non-profit organization--our sole focus is preparing greyhounds to live as pets and placing them in forever homes. We take no position in the racing debate.
SA GREYS worked closely with TGP kennel operators and the National Greyhound Association to ensure every available greyhound was placed with an adoption group when the track closed. We continue to have cordial relationships with greyhound farms, working together to place hounds who have been used for breeding or who will never race.
We're all about the hounds.
Thanks for the great coverage of our organization and for helping to spread the word about the continuing need for greyhound rehoming.
