The iconic Hirsh's Shoes store and several other buildings and storefronts on the Sunshine Mile in Tucson have been added to the National Register of Historic Places.
The new designation for the collection of storefronts and other buildings known as the Sunshine Mile is expected to help preserve the mid-century structures, including the old Hirsch's Shoes that closed in 2016 after more than 60 years in business.
