Authorities say water service for hundreds of residents in the southern Arizona community of Bowie was restored Saturday afternoon.

Water pressure is reduced and won't be restored to full-pressure until the large well is repaired later this week, according to Cochise County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Carol Capas.

Bowie Water Company has completed restoration work on two wells that were temporarily shut down Friday.

The wells provide water to about 500 people.

According to the Bowie Water Improvement District, pumps within the wells stopped sucking in water once the water level had fallen below the level of the pumps.
