PHOENIX — Authorities say a 2-year-old girl has drowned in a hot tub in Cave Creek on Friday night.
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office released a statement saying the girl's grandmother had pulled her out and began performing CPR. Authorities believe the child had been under water for several minutes before the grandmother discovered her.
Sheriff's deputies arrived around 7 p.m. and took over CPR until Rural Metro Fire arrived and took the girl to a hospital.
The girl was pronounced dead at the hospital.
