The Knob Hill Fire burning in the Dragoon Mountains east of Tucson on Feb. 10, 2018.

Residents in the Dragoon Mountain Ranch community have received evacuation orders due to the Knob Hill fire in Cochise County.

The Cochise County Sheriff's Office issued the evacuation order for residents in the area between St. David and Middle March Road. Pre-evacuation notices were given for the east Dragoon Mountains area.

Officials believe the fire was human caused and started at 11:45 a.m. Saturday in the west Dragoon Mountains, Heidi Schewel, a ‎U.S. Forest Service public affairs officer said.

An estimated 2,896 acres have been burned, according to the forest service website. High winds and dry vegetation in the area continued to drive the fire throughout Friday evening.

The forest service at Coronado National Forest, which is coordinating the containment, said the fire burned into West Stronghold Canyon up to the Dragoon Mountains ridgeline.

There are five 20-person fire crews and aircrafts working to suppress the fire, which is currently 15 percent contained as of 4 p.m. Sunday.

Fire activity has been minimal due to diminished winds and increased humidity, the service said.

"There are no other evacuations or pre-evacuations at this time and we do not anticipate any further today," the U.S. Forest Service said.
