Communities in eastern DR Congo say that a withdrawal recently announced by M23 rebels terrorizing their communities has not been effective. Over the last week clashes between the militia and the Congolese army have continued. In the chaos, loved ones often lose contact with each other. Now, the International Committee of the red cross has set up phone booths to help the displaced track down those left behind in combat zones.
