Oro Valley Police shooting
- Updated
The Oro Valley Police Department released video this week of an officer-involved shooting last September that wounded a man who had fired at police officers. The video, taken from an officer's body camera, show Oro Valley police breaking down the door of a residence. A 41-year-old man, later identified as Stephen H. Stribling, inside the house fired once at the officers, said Lt. Kara Riley, a spokeswoman for the department. Detective Zachary Young, a 10-year veteran of the force, then fires three times at the suspect, who is wounded in the shooting. The video then shows the injured man crawling out of the house, Riley said. Riley said the video was released because all of the investigations into the shooting, including an internal affairs probe and a Pima County Sheriff's Department investigation, have been completed. Detective Young was cleared in the shooting, Riley said.
