Watch: Tucson Fire battles midtown apartment blaze
- Updated
A man was displaced in a Wednesday morning blaze at a midtown apartment complex, after a fire started in his carport and ignited an SUV.
Tucson fire crews responded to the fire, in the 2100 block of North Treat Avenue, shortly before 7 a.m., and found the carport fully engulfed in flames, along with a vehicle, said department spokesman, Capt. Barrett Baker.
It took nine units consisting of 23 firefighters to bring the fire under control in about 15 minutes. No occupants of the apartment or firefighters were injured, but the Red Cross is assisting the male resident.
The extent of the damage is unknown, along with the cause of the fire.
