As all of you have noticed, there are vehicles anywhere you travel in the United States. Nearly all of the vehicles are either gasoline or diesel powered.
As much as the EV proponents wish, it will be many years until EVs power the majority of vehicles. In 2023, the United States used 124 million gallons of gasoline and 42 million gallons of diesel daily. The United States consumes a total of 20.25 million barrels of oil per day, of which 8.51 million barrels are imported from 86 countries. The United States, with vast proven and unproven petroleum reserves, has enough quantity under our own soil to satisfy our demand without any imports. With that in mind, why would we import petroleum from any country, friendly or not, when we could keep those valuable dollars in-house and provide good jobs for thousands of tax-paying oil workers and all the ancillary activities that are required to produce finished products? We are derelict to not harvest this treasure.
