If you are considering voting for Trump because the price of food is too high, consider the following:
The government does not sell food or does it have much control over the price of food. But citizen consumers do have control over food prices. The CDC states that 74% of Americans are overweight and 43% of them are obese. If citizen consumers ate less overall and purchased more fruit, vegetables and lean meats, consumers would be healthier and spend less money. When we stop buying expensive processed foods and $15.00 per pound steaks, the price will go down. When we refuse to buy food that isn't good for us anyway, the price of unhealthy food will go down.
When that happens consumers can decide to stay healthy by eating less food and healthier food, or go back to unhealthy food and be overcharged, overweight and unhealthy. It's about supply, demand and being smart and healthy.
