The current national fixation on sexual harassment will eventually spill over to the local level. Great care should be taken to insure the matter does not become detrimental to our society. This could become an ideal tool for nefarious individuals for blackmail purposes. Whether guilty or not, it would most likely cause an individual to succumb to blackmail demands.
It is a given that the charge alone would be sufficient to cast dispersion upon said individual. It would behoove the media to set stringent guidelines before printing such allegations It is not my intent to infer that the individual making these complaints are untruthful, but prudent steps should be taken to insure the veracity of said statements.
