Did Pima County planners decide to waive the building code requirements to assure new homes are accessible to everyone? The Inclusive Home Design standards were adopted after many hours of careful consideration by various stakeholders, then years later to have those minimal cost effective adaptations like one zero step entry into the residence removed insults the democratic process. New innovative buildings should accommodate seniors and persons with physical challenges a waiver without public input feels irresponsible.
