The statement regarding the estimated increase in property taxes of $54 is a convenient misrepresentation that ignores the real issues. Oro Valley residents struggle with the mayor and council who exhibit champagne tastes with a beer wallet. The campaign did it's best to tug on the heart strings with the phrase ".. for the kids...", and ignored the ultimate goal of our elected officials: to reward contractors and developers with sweetheart deals. This advertised prospective build was only a portion of the objective, and was nowhere near an honest description of what they planned to do AFTER picking our pockets "...for the kids..". But the icing on the cake for many residents was the Facebook post where our younger , better educated (?) residents labeled the voting base of seniors "old farts" who cared little for families with children living in Oro Valley. Insulting people you are asking to support you was not the most intelligent thing to do.
