Letter: Re: the Oct. 18. article “Endangered red squirrel population down to 35 after Mount Graham fire, authorities say”

I have no expertise in regard to the red squirrel.I do have enough common sense to conclude that the relative decline of the squirrels on Mt. Graham is most likely due to the reduction of habitat and food supplies due to the numerous fires in recent years, not as a direct result of telescope construction. I base my opinion specifically on the referenced October 18, 2017 article.
