Why is this now an issue after being ignored by former Superintendent HT Sanchez and both Foster & Grijjalva? After years of refusal at request of Dr. Stegman and Mike Hicks suddenly it is important to them. I have from day one shared at Board meeting that " only focus is students".
This item absolutely must be discussed , debated and resolution can't be achieved the last minute at the end of TUSD board meeting. I agree with current board majority this topic must be part of discussion that includes parents, faculty, alumni , Administration and community.
This was classic Adelita Grijjalva and Krystal Foster attempt to shame majority into a wrongful short sided decision. Sound like the old Board majority. That why voters changed the good ole boys/mean girls Board majority.
How do we people of Tucson address this vital issue? Honesty , transparent inclusive discussion so a resolution that will have our students best interest and NOT political agenda/ special interest.
