If the university that you are playing for wins a national title, or comes close to doing so, would not that thrill or taste of victory and challenge with your teammates be enough to come back and try to achieve the title again in this day and age? Or is it all about the money now? Where is the pride in winning? I guess it has gone away while we give trophies for participating, or medals for being enlisted at the time of a conflict. As a society we seem to no longer value victory as we once did. Perhaps this may be another reason young athletes do not stay with their teams longer.
