White House praises Machado as a 'brave voice' while backing interim president Rodríguez

The White House praised Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado as she discussed her country's future in a meeting with President Donald Trump on Thursday, but said skepticism of her ability to lead the country "has not changed."

Trump confirmed later on social media that Machado had left the medal for him to keep, and he said it was an honor to meet her.
