VARIOUS OF CONFETTI BEING RELEASEDNEW YORK, US - DEC. 29, 2025: Brightly colored confetti rained down in New York City’s Times Square on Monday ahead of the New Year’s Eve celebration. The colorful confetti was released at 11 am local time (1600GMT) from the Planet Fitness Center Stage at Broadway Plaza between 45th and 46th Streets ahead of the 3,000 pounds scheduled to drop on New Year’s Eve. Every year, people worldwide share their New Year’s wishes on official Times Square confetti, submitting them either online or in person. “The confetti of wishes that drops at midnight is another symbol of the spirit that makes Times Square a beacon of hope for people around the world," Tom Harris, President of the Times Square Alliance, said in a statement.
