One person was killed and three were injured late Monday morning when a Pima County Sheriff's Department helicopter crashed into the side of a mountain northwest of Tucson, officials said.

Loren Leonberger piloted this helicopter involved in the 1992 DPS rescue of Glenn Velardi, after a Medevac helicopter crash in the Pinaleno Mountains near Mt. Graham. Velardi is at the end of the rope with Richard Carmona.
Leonberger was killed Monday, January 31, 2011 in a crash that injured 3 others, northwest of Tucson.
