Name: Ricky Hunley 

Years at UA: 1980-83

Accomplishments: In 1983, Hunley was a co-captain of the team and was named the Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year. He was a consensus first-team All-American in 1982 and a unanimous first-team All-American in 1983.

He was inducted into the National Football Foundation College Football Hall of Fame in 1998 and the Arizona Sports Hall of Fame in 1989. Hunley was a three-time first-team All-Pac-10 selection (1981, 1982, 1983).

He also ranks in the top 10 in UA history in the following categories: 

• Career total tackles: 1st, 566 total tackles 

• Career solo tackles: 1st, 323 solo tackles 

• Career assisted tackles: 1st, 243 assisted tackles 

• Career interceptions: Tied for 10th, 12 interceptions 

• Single-season interceptions: Tied for 5th, seven interceptions (1983)

Hunley also led Arizona in the following defensive categories for three seasons: 

• Total tackles: 1981 (121 tackles); 1982 (173 tackles); 1983 (176 tackles)

• Unassisted tackles: 1981 (74 unassisted tackles); 1982 (100 unassisted tackles); 1983 (99 unassisted tackles)
