Cesar Salazar blasted two homers as the UA baseball team kept its postseason hopes alive with a 10-2 win at Oregon on Thursday night in the opener of a three-game series.

Alfonso Rivas also went deep as the Wildcats (33-21, 13-15) won their second straight game. 

Salazar drove in six runs, with an RBI single in the first to make it 1-0, a two-run homer in the third to put UA up 4-1 and a three-run homer in the ninth to wrap up the scoring.

Salazar and Donta Williams each had three hits while Rivas and Cal Stevenson had two as the Wildcats notched 14 as a team.

Cody Deason (6-5) earned the win with six strong innings, allowing two runs on eight hits with two strikeouts.

Oregon (25-28, 11-17) has been outscored 47-9 in its past four games, including a three-game sweep at UCLA last weekend.

The Wildcats and Ducks meet again at 7 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday to wrap up the regular season.
