As expected, Arizona Wildcats left-hander Cameron Ming announced Thursday that he will go pro. The Baltimore Orioles selected the junior pitcher in the 14th round of the MLB draft Wednesday.

“I am forever grateful for Tucson giving me the best three years of my life,” Ming wrote on Twitter. “Thank you to the coaches, teammates, fans and all other support staff that I truly believe are the best in the country.

“Something very remarkable happened a couple years ago getting this program in the right direction again. … I gained several brothers throughout the years, and I leave with many great memories of our times together. The University of Arizona will always be a place I call home.”

Ming went 7-2 with a 2.78 ERA this season as a starter and reliever.
