Arizona baseball players, coaches and staff will wear No. 9 patches and 'JK' stickers to honor the late Jerry Kindall this season.

The Arizona Wildcats baseball program will acknowledge the late, great Jerry Kindall in a variety of ways this season.

UA players, coaches and staff will wear a black No. 9 patch on the left sleeve of their jerseys in honor of Kindall, who died Dec. 24 at age 82. Kindall won 860 games and three College World Series championships as Arizonaโ€™s coach.

The Wildcats also will don a โ€œJKโ€ sticker on the back of their batting helmets.

Additionally, Kindall will be recognized throughout the season at Hi Corbett Field. A large No. 9 sign will sit above the โ€œIntimidatorโ€ board in right-center field. Kindallโ€™s seat at the stadium has been painted red with the No. 9 on it and will remain empty. A display of Kindall memorabilia can be found in the concourse near the front entrance.

A moment of silence will precede the first pitch of Friday nightโ€™s opener against Bryant University. On April 21, several members of Kindallโ€™s family will return to Hi Corbett to further celebrate his life and career.
