San Diego five-star big man Brandon McCoy announced Tuesday night he will play for UNLV next season, choosing the Rebels over Arizona, Oregon, Michigan State and others.

It hasn't appeared likely in recent months that McCoy would choose Arizona because the Wildcats are adding DeAndre Ayton and have starting center Dusan Ristic returning.

While Oregon certainly had room, after losing Jordan Bell to the NBA draft and possibly Kavell Bigby-Williams, McCoy is likely to find an even more featured role with a UNLV team that was just 11-21 last season.

The Rebels are scheduled to host Arizona on Dec. 2 in Las Vegas, the final game in a four-game home-and-home series that was agreed to under former UNLV coach Dave Rice.

Toronto's D-League team, Raptors 905, beat Rio Grande Valley Vipers 95-85 in Game 2 of the D-League finals, pushing the series to a third and final game to be played Thursday in Ontario.

Former UA player and assistant coach Matt Brase is coaching the Vipers, an affiliate of the Houston Rockets.

The NBA released an official list of early draft entrants that totaled 137 college players and 45 international players -- or three times as many players as there are spots in the 2017 NBA Draft.

Turns out, USC's Elijah Stewart isn't on the list, and the Trojan guard spoke to the L.A. Times about his thought process this spring.

Utah's David Collette was a surprise addition to the list, but he told the Salt Lake Tribune he intends to return to the Utes and is in it for the workouts and chance to possibly gain more exposure.
