CHICAGO โ After leading the NBA Combineโs first game in scoring Thursday, Arizonaโs Rawle Alkins said he has no idea whether he returns to the Wildcats or stays in the NBA Draft.
โItโs 50-50, and depends on the feedback that I get,โ Alkins said during Combine interviews Thursday at the Quest Multisport complex. โI have until May 24 to make my decision. Iโm considering coming back to school 100 percent and Iโm considering entering the draft 100 percent so itโs 50-50. โ
Alkins has already worked out privately for Oklahoma City and says he additional workouts planned after the Combine, and will then get with his family and cousin to make his decision. Alkins said he will likely go near the deadline before making the decision.
Alkins said heโs aware that his decision may be affecting UAโs recruiting, and has talked to UA coach Sean Miller about it, but also said potential UA recruits shouldnโt wait on his decision.
โIf Iโm a high school basketball player, or if I was the guy from Pitt (Cam Johnson), I wouldnโt rely on my decision to make a decision,โ Alkins said. โIf youโre a basketball player, you should always have confidence no matter whoโs coming or whoโs going.โ
Weโll have more from Alkins posted later this evening and in Fridayโs print edition.
In the Combineโs first game, Alkins had 18 points on 7-for-10 shooting, plus five rebounds, while recording a +10. Kadeem Allen had five points and three assists for the opposing team.
