Lauri Markkanen's two double-doubles to lead Arizona to a sweep in Washington earned him the Pac-12 Player of the Week award.

It was the second weekly honor for Markkanen, and seventh overall by a Pac-12 freshman, tying the conference record for most freshmen to win the award.

Markkanen had 19 points and 11 rebounds at Washington State and then collected 26 points and 13 rebounds at Washington on Saturday.

Among the players he beat out were Oregon State's Stephen Thompson Jr., who had 31 points to lead the Beavers to their first conference win on Sunday.

We had a short recap of UA's move to No. 4 in the AP Top 25 and possibly to the No. 2 seed line in the previous blog post.
