Arizona was voted to the No. 1 spot in the Associated Press Top 25 poll for an eighth straight time Monday, tying another program record.
Two voters did not submit ballots but the Wildcats received all 59 first-place votes to become a unanimous choice for the third straight week.
Arizona was last No. 1 for eight straight votes during the 2013-14 season, when they were starting out 21-0 before losing at California and dropping into the No. 2 spot.
The Wildcats have actually held the top spot for nine weeks this season the poll was not conducted on Dec. 29 due to the lack of games during the holiday period that preceded that Monday.

Elsewhere in the Top 25, Michigan (20-1) leapfrogged UConn (21-1) into the No. 2 spot after winning at Michigan State, dropping UConn from No. 2 to No. 3. The Wolverines also leapfrogged over Arizona into the No. 1 Kenpom spot.
Duke (20-1) remained at No. 4 while Illinois (19-3) was fifth and Gonzaga (22-1) sixth, Iowa State (20-2) was seventh and Houston (19-2) eighth. Nebraska (20-2) fell from No. 5 to No. 9 after losing twice, leaving UA and 23rd-ranked Miami of Ohio (22-0) and Arizona as the only unbeaten teams in Division I.
Among other Big 12 teams, Kansas (16-5) moved from No. 14 to No. 11 after beating BYU (17-4) which fell from No. 13 to No. 16. Texas Tech (16-5) dropped from 11 to 13 after losing at UCF (17-4), which received the 29th most points in voting.
