After dropping 30 points on defending national champion Florida and another 18 on Utah Tech last week, Arizona freshman forward Koa Peat was named the Big 12's Newcomer and co-Player of the Week.

Peat, who also had seven rebounds, three steals and a block against Florida, shared the Big 12 Player of the Week award with Texas Tech's Christian Anderson, who averaged 18 points and nine assists in the Red Raiders' two home wins.

The Big 12 also introduced a new weekly "starting five" meant to honor the conference's top five players. Along with Peat and Anderson, those players included AJ Dybantsa of BYU, Baba Miller of Cincinnati and Darryn Peterson of Kansas.
