Miles Simon

Miles Simon reportedly worked well with Lakers rookie Kyle Kuzma last season.

Update: The Los Angeles Lakers told reporter Kyle Goon and others that Miles Simon has pneumonia and will not coach Saturday night.

The team said Simon will be considered day-to-day after Saturday's game.

Thursday night: Lakers assistant coach Miles Simon was seen leaving the locker room in Staples Center on a stretcher following Los Angeles' preseason win over the Kings on Thursday night.

Lakers Film Room and The Athletic's Bill Oram first tweeted about the former Arizona Wildcats' scary moment.

No details have been released about Simon's incident, but ESPN's David McMenamin reported that Simon was sitting up and conscious with medical personnel escorting him.

“I don’t know what’s going on but I’m not going to talk about Miles. He can talk about that,” head coach Luke Walton told Oram.

Simon was hired to Walton's staff last season and served as the Lakers' head coach during the most recent NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
