What. A. Day.
On Thursday morning, the future of the Arizona Wildcats basketball program was murky. At 12:30 p.m., Arizona's status elevated from the dark cloud, to hopeful after Sean Miller released a statement that ESPN's report of the FBI containing a wiretapped conversation of him discussing a $100,000 payment to Deandre Ayton was completely false.
At 6 p.m., Allonzo Trier was announced that his appeal with the NCAA was granted after he missed last week for testing positive of performance-enhancing drugs.
In less than six hours, the Arizona Wildcats went from down in the dumps, to a lifted team determined to finish the regular season on a high note with two games on tap. And after the Cats handled Stanford, the UA clinched a share of the Pac-12 regular season championship and Dusan Ristic became the the all-time wins leader in program history.
All of that in just a matter of one day. While the future of the program is still cloudy since it remains under investigation, Thursday was an inspiring and lifting win for the Wildcats.
Miller and Ristic spoke in the postgame press conference, here's what they had to say.
