Earlier Wednesday, former U.S. president Barack Obama picked the Arizona Wildcats to advance to the Final Four.
Not to be outdone, Gov. Doug Ducey has the UA winning it all.
Ducey tweeted his bracket picks Wednesday afternoon. He's picked the UA to beat North Dakota, St. Mary's, Xavier — that's Sean Miller's old school — and Notre Dame to advance to the Final Four. The Wildcats will then beat old foe Wisconsin, according to Ducey, to advance to the championship game; a win over Kentucky follows.
Whether Ducey is being a smart basketball fan or simply stumping for his local team is unclear. The No. 2 seed Wildcats are trendy favorites to win the West Regional. They're the only team in the state to finish with a winning record: ASU finished 15-18, and Northern Arizona was a ghastly 9-23.
