For what is being billed as UA’s marquee game of this year’s nonconference season, Sean Miller says he’s hoping to see a “supercharged” crowd.
“I remember in that past this game here before the holiday has a great spirit about it, with so many people coming back to Tucson for the holidays,” Miller said Monday. “We’re really gonna need that. We’re really gonna need that tomorrow to be at our best.”
But while McKale Center may be loud tonight, it probably won’t be full. UA has designated this game as one of its premium-priced offerings, meaning tickets start at $40 instead of $26, and they aren't selling out at that price.
The most plentiful seats behind the north basket and below the middle concourse – in what is usually the student section – are going for $62.
The seat map appears to have about 600 or so open seats as of early afternoon, while resale tickets start at $36 on VividSeats and $46 on StubHub.
UA's other premium priced games are against Colorado, ASU and UCLA. Only the UCLA game is sold out as of now, though the ASU game has only single seats available.
New Mexico coach Craig Neal didn’t start one of his two best players, guard Elijah Brown, on Saturday after being disappointed with the team’s effort in a loss at New Mexico State.
Neal said Monday he wasn’t sure if Brown will start but there’s little doubt Brown will be a big factor, regardless.
