Arizona vs Oregon State

Arizona Wildcats head coach Sean Miller grows frustrated with his team in the second half during a game at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis, Oregon on Feb. 22, 2018. Arizona won 75-65.

CORVALLIS — Sean Miller said on his postgame radio show that he was “devastated” by Allonzo Trier’s suspension and hoped it would be resolved soon.

He had less to say during his postgame media interview in the Gill Coliseum basement (with just the Star, the Associated Press and a UA videographer), leaving after just two minutes and seven seconds as a question about Trier was being asked.

“Thank you," he said. "I’m good. I gotta go.”

Here was the entire transcript of Miller's postgame comments:

On whether UA’s 75-65 win over OSU was a case of getting more from others when Trier and Ira Lee (concussion) were out: “Yeah. I thought our bench did a really good job for sure.”

On whether his approach was different without the two guys: “No.”

On what the key in overtime was: “You know, I thought Rawle made some really big plays.”

On if confidence was lacking until then (Alkins had said his confidence was boosted after he hit two free throws to tie the game near the end of regulation): “Rawle, he believes in himself and the 3-point shot he hit was a big one.”

On what he thought about Saturday’s game at Oregon: “They’re obviously a terrific program. Dana Altman is a great coach and we’ve got our hands full.”

On how important the win was in the race for the league title: “Pretty important.”

On the play of Emmanuel Akot, who played 25 minutes and started the overtime period: “I thought Emmanuel did a great job. Twenty five minutes and he gave us some really good defense.”

On if UA players proved they can adapt when adversity hits: “We have some great kids and obviously some terrific players. Tonight was one where they really stepped up.”

On what he thought of Alex Barcello, who didn’t play in seven of eight previous games: “He made two big shots in the first half.”
