Hudson Catholic's Jahvon Quinerly #5 shoots a free throw against St. Anthony during a high school basketball game at the 2017 Hoophall Classic on Saturday, January 14,, 2017, in Springfield, MA.

It's still early in the 2018 recruiting game, but the addition of Jahvon Quinerly has put Arizona atop the team rankings.

Scout has Arizona just ahead of USC in the No. 1 spot so far, while CBS went so far as to suggest the Wildcats might have the preseason No. 1 team -- in 2018-19.

Other reaction:

• ESPN's Paul Biancardi posted some analysis of Quinerly's game, noting his smooth feel and ballhandling ability.

"His handle is tight while his passing touch is accurate, but even more impressive is his advanced understanding of how to operate in a ball screen offense," Biancardi wrote. "He is best with the ball in his hands making plays for himself and others."

• Former UA star guard Damon Stoudamire tweeted that "2 PGs can play together," an apparent reference to the addition of both Quinerly and Los Angeles' Brandon Williams.

• We had a look at how Quinerly and Williams appear to be looking forward to playing with each other.

Nassir Little says he'll cut down to five schools today, and UA is expected to be one of them.

Oakland coach Greg Kampe, one of Sean Miller's coaching friends, survived a near-death experience last month.
