Despite beating No. 12 Michigan State 65-63 on Friday in Hawaii, Arizona stayed at No. 10 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll.
The reasons are pretty clear: Nobody else lost in the Top 10 except Kansas, which dropped from No. 3 to No. 7 after losing in overtime to Indiana in the second game of the Armed Forces Classic.
Also, UA edged a team below it in the rankings on a neutral court, which probably doesn't in itself call for a move upward. (I'm not voting this year but that would be my mindset if I was.)
Among other UA opponents in the poll, Oregon moved up from No. 5 to No. 4, while Gonzaga stayed at 14 and UCLA stayed at 16. Cal jumped in at No. 25 after drubbing South Dakota State without Ivan Rabb.
Five-star Pennsylvania guard Lonnie Walker hinted on Twitter that he may be getting closer to choosing a school. He has indicated he wanted to make a choice this fall but has only until Wednesday if he wants to sign a letter-of-intent during the fall signing period.
The UA staff is no doubt full of hope he will choose Arizona. The school opted not to issue a release after four commits signed this week, saying it will wait until the class is complete before doing so.
Getting Walker would make for a historic recruiting class at Arizona, easily the best fall class in school history and probably the best in the country.
The Crystal Ball over at 24/7 Sports has 87 percent of analysts saying Walker will choose Arizona. Villanova, Syracuse, Miami (Fla.) and Kentucky are his other finalists.
UA actually carried the composite No. 1 recruiting class into the weekend, but Kris Wilkes' decision to play for UCLA bumped the Bruins ahead.
No. 3 on that list is Washington, which already has potential No. 1 NBA pick Markelle Fultz -- but can't stop anybody defensively.
Tres Tinkle was named the Pac-12's Player of the Week after posting double-doubles in both of the Beavers' wins over the weekend. UA nominated Kobi Simmons.
Tinkle is back just in time for Oregon State, which is now without Stephen Thompson Jr. because of a foot injury.
Small-ball worked out pretty well for ASU and Bobby Hurley on Sunday.
Seattle's visit to Boulder is bringing back some bad memories for the Buffs.
UCLA showed some adaptability in a win over Cal State Northridge.
