LAS VEGAS — Day three of the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas took place on Sunday, and while it's the end of the weekend, there's still a load of basketball left to be played.
Check out what you could've missed from this weekend.
Familiar foe

Former Arizona Wildcat Allonzo Trier didn’t match up against Utah Jazz guard and former Dukie Grayson Allen on Sunday, because Allen took the day off for rest, but Trier defended a familiar opponent in ex-UMBC standout Jairus Lyles. Lyles led UMBC to a historic upset win over No. 1 seed Virginia in the NCAA Tournament, but the Retrievers fell to UA earlier in the season.
Trier is now 1-1 in the head-to-head matchups with Lyles after the Jazz beat the Knicks.
Alkins chugging along

After making his debut with the Raptors and scoring 12 points in 14 minutes against the Pelicans on Friday, ex-Wildcat Rawle Alkins had a quiet second game versus the Timberwolves with two points, one rebound and one assist in eight minutes Sunday.
International Sixers

There’s more to NBA Summer League than just draft picks and young G League players looking to crack into the league. Summer league is also a chance for professional overseas players to compete at the highest level, and no team has more international players than the Philadelphia 76ers, who have eight prospects that have competed all over the world at some point in their career.
Turkish wing Furkan Korkmaz scored 40 points during the first night while big man Norvel Pelle enters his first year in the NBA after playing for Pallacanestro Varese in Italy. Other international players come from Australia, Spain and Lithuania.
Kings of Vegas

While Arizona is well represented in Las Vegas with seven players and three coaches, Kentucky has the most Wildcats in summer league with 11 players. The one ex-Kentucky player that has made the most of his time in Vegas is Allonzo Trier’s new Knicks teammate Kevin Knox, who has scored in double figures in two games.
UA is fourth among bluebloods, also trailing Duke (10) and Kansas (8). Arizona is in first among Pac-12 schools, with UCLA right behind with five.
Five-star point guard high on UA

Over the weekend, five-star 2019 point guard Josiah James cut his recruiting list down to nine schools, and the Arizona Wildcats are included, along with Duke, Florida State, Kansas, Michigan State, Tennessee, Clemson, Virginia and South Carolina.
Listed as the top point guard and the No. 12 overall player in 247 Sports composite rankings, the 6-foot-6 James has the potential to add to Arizona’s depth chart if Brandon Williams and Alex Barcello stay.

Charlotte Hornets shooting guard Malik Monk is out for the rest of Summer League with a thumb injury, but that didn’t stop him from wearing one of the newest pair of Nikes on the market. Monk sported the pink and magenta Nike Air Max 97s that are currently priced at $189 online.
