The Arizona Wildcats broke the school rushing record and defeated Oregon State 49-28 on Saturday night at Arizona Stadium.
The Wildcats finished with 534 yards on the ground. The previous record of 511 yards was set in the 2016 Territorial Cup. It lasted less than a year.
Quarterback Khalil Tate led the way with 206 yards, including a 71-yard touchdown. J.J. Taylor had 129 yards on 10 carries. Nick Wilson had 101 and a touchdown on 17 attempts.
Arizona bounced back from last weekโs loss at USC and improved to 7-3, 5-2 in the Pac-12. The Wildcats have won five of their past six.
Oregon State dropped its eight in a row and fell to 1-9, 0-7.
Arizona visits Oregon next week. The game will kick off at 4 p.m. Pacific Time, 5 p.m. in Tucson. It will be televised by Pac-12 Networks.
THIRD-QUARTER UPDATE:
Khalil Tate and the Arizona Wildcats continue to lead Oregon State entering the fourth quarter Saturday night at Arizona Stadium.
Tate has rushed for 206 yards โ including a 71-yard touchdown in the third quarter โ as the Cats lead the Beavers 42-14.
Tate has one run of at least 70 yards in five of the past six games.
Arizona has rushed for 451 yards. The school record is 511, set against Arizona State in the 2016 season finale.
The UA defense could not sustain its excellent play from the first half, surrendering a pair of touchdown drives.
Tate and Zach Green each have two touchdowns. J.J. Taylor has 110 rushing yards. Nick Wilson has 89 yards and a score.
HALFTIME UPDATE:
The Arizona Wildcats are running away from Oregon State.
Arizona has 329 rushing yards in the first half, fueling the UA to a 28-0 lead over underdog Oregon State on Saturday night at Arizona Stadium.
Four Wildcats have rushed for touchdowns: Nick Wilson (1 yard), Zach Green (4 yards), Khalil Tate (19 yards) and Tony Ellison (27 yards).
Per usual, Tate provided the highlight play on his TD run: He ran through OSU safety David Morris, then dragged linebacker Jalen Moore across the goal line.
Tate leads the way with 121 yards on 13 carries. J.J. Taylor hasnโt scored but has 100 yards, including a 56-yard run. Wilson has 65 yards.
The defense has limited the Beavers to 82 total yards. Linebacker Colin Schooler has three tackles for losses, including a pair of sacks.
FIRST-QUARTER UPDATE:

Quarterback Khalil Tate already has rushed for 83 yards. Senior tailbacks Nick Wilson and Zach Green each have a touchdown.
Arizona took the ball first and marched 75 yards for a 7-0 lead. Per usual, Tate was heavily involved.
The sophomore quarterback helped the Wildcats convert a pair of third-and-8s. On the first one, he scrambled 22 yards for the first down. On the second, he connected with Tyrell Johnson for a 23-yard pass. Two plays later, Wilson plowed in from the 1-yard line for the gameโs first touchdown.
The Wildcats appeared to be on their way to a second score, reaching the OSU 34-yard line. But Tateโs pass down the right sideline intended for Jamie Nunley was intercepted. Oregon Stateโs Shawn Wilson appeared to peel away from an underneath route to pick off Tate at the 5-yard line. It was Tateโs third interception in the past two games.
Arizona got the ball back and drove 85 yards in eight plays. J.J. Taylorโs 29-yard run advanced the ball to the OSU 11. Two plays later, Green scored from the 4.
