The Arizona Wildcats could be without all three of their starting defensive linemen for the Territorial Cup.
Dereck Boles (ankle) is listed as questionable, and Justin Belknap (knee) and Luca Bruno (concussion) are doubtful for Saturdayβs game at Arizona State.
All three players got hurt last week at Oregon. The questionable tag means Boles β Arizonaβs leading tackler among interior linemen β is 50/50 to play, at best. Belknap and Bruno are long shots.
The Wildcats have been preparing for this possibility all week. They likely will start Finton Connolly and Parker Zellers at the two tackle spots. Belknapβs replacement is less clear. The UA could use Larry Tharpe Jr. there, or slide him inside.
Freshmen Kurtis Brown and JB Brown are no longer listed on the injury report. Kurtis Brown, a defensive tackle, has missed the past three weeks; JB Brown, an end, has missed the past two. If available, they would provide much-needed depth up front.
Arizona announced its game captains earlier Friday. Theyβre all from the Phoenix area: tackle Layth Friekh, receiver Shawn Poindexter, DE-LB DeAndreβ Miller and linebacker Brandon Rutt.
The Wildcats will wear white jerseys, white pants and blue helmets for the 91st Territorial Cup, which kicks off at 2:30 p.m. on Pac-12 Networks.
