Gaelin Elmore

Arizona has already added one transfer to its defensive line for 2017.

Now the Wildcats are trying to add another.

Minnesota defensive Gaelin Elmore is taking an official visit to Arizona's campus this weekend after receiving a scholarship offer from the Wildcats on Thursday.

Elmore was originally supposed to be visiting South Carolina this weekend, and also holds offers from numerous other schools, including Oklahoma and West Virginia.

Arizona needs to add size to its defensive line, which it did when USC transfer Noah Jefferson committed to the Wildcats, though he won't be eligible to play until 2018. Jefferson, an interior lineman, is listed at 6-6, 315 pounds.

Elmore will bring more size to the outside on Arizona's defensive line, as the defensive end is listed at 6-6, 275 pounds. In three years with the Gophers, Elmore amassed four sacks and 9.5 tackles for loss.

As a graduate transfer, Elmore would be eligible to play immediately.
