When Arizona coach Rich Rodriguez announced Arizona's 2017 recruiting class a couple weeks ago, he insisted the Wildcats weren't finished.
He wasn't kidding.
Arizona started its spring drills on Saturday afternoon, and hosted two possible additions to the team's 2017 roster. The headliner is offensive lineman Cameron Dillard, a graduate transfer from Florida.
Dillard would be eligible to play right away and with his extensive experience — he started 19 games for the Gators, including eight in 2016 — and would likely compete with Nathan Eldridge for immediate playing time at center.
The Wildcats also hosted 2017 quarterback K'Hari Lane and are exploring offering him a scholarship. Lane, from Montezuma, Georgia, currently holds offers only from FCS schools, including Grambling State. He's listed 6-foot-1 and 225 pounds.
Bleacher Report wrote an extensive article about Lane and his lack of offers, despite a prolific high school career.
Arizona also had a few local 2018 recruits on campus, including UA commit Jamarye Joiner (Cienega) and offensive lineman David Watson (Amphitheater). Arizona is expected to offer Watson — covered by the Star here — a scholarship soon.
Also attending practice — UA signee Rhett Rodriguez (Catalina Foothills) and D.J. Hinton (Tucson High), who will blueshirt the upcoming season.
