After top Arizona football commit Greg Johnson took an official visit to Nebraska last weekend, there was some concern from the Wildcats fan base of whether Arizona's losing season was starting to impact their highly-touted 2017 recruiting class.

The way Johnson is talking, the Wildcats still seem to be in good shape. Johnson is a four-star recruit, according to Scout.com, and the highest-rated recruit currently verbally committed to Arizona for 2017.

Johnson told the Star he intends to take his official visit to Arizona for the Colorado game on Nov. 12.

"I’ve been watching the games, I know they’ve been dealing with a lot of injuries and stuff, but I’m pretty sure they’ll get a couple more Ws," Johnson said. "I know that when myself and the rest of the 2017 class gets there we’re going to change a lot of that. We’re looking forward to getting a lot of wins and a lot of bowl wins."

Johnson's early March commitment surprised some people, and it was always expected that the Los Angeles Augustus Hawkins product would still receive heavy interest from other schools, and that's been true so far. In addition to the Nebraska interest, Johnson is expected to visit Notre Dame at some point, and likely USC as well.

About the Nebraska visit, Johnson said: "It was cool, just being out of California for a couple days. The atmosphere was cool, and they are cool people out there so I enjoyed it overall. It was a cool visit."

We'll have more about Johnson and the rest of Arizona's 2017 recruiting class in the coming days.
