Arizona received a commitment Wednesday from Joshua Szott of Haven Beach, New Jersey. The wide receiver was expected to play for the Colgate Raiders of the FCS in 2018, but will instead take his talents to Tucson.
Szott will join the team as a preferred walk-on and will be eligible to play during the 2018 season, but told the Star he expects to have a scholarship in the spring.
He announced his decision to attend UA via Twitter.
I would like to thank Colgate for everything they have done for me, specifically Coach Hunt, Coach Young, and Coach Bash. Class program. I would like to thank God for this opportunity to be a wildcat. I am extremely excited. #beardown pic.twitter.com/xo61nZNKyM

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound wideout originally planned to join the Raiders for the upcoming season and received an offer from Colgate in December. Szott recorded 1,021 yards on 43 catches (24.9) last season. He graduated from Huns High School earlier this year.
Szott is the son of former Penn State standout and longtime NFL offensive lineman Dave Szott, who was mostly known for playing with the Kansas City Chiefs from 1990 to 2000.
